May 10th, 2007

NEC Solutions America, a division of NEC, has announced a new line of jumbo XGA native resolution plasma displays, intended for use in conference rooms and for broadcast and multimedia applications.

The three new PlasmaSync models are all shipping.

The PlasmaSync 42XM2 is a 42-inch model, with 1024 by 768 XGA resolution, and has a manufacturer’s suggested retail price of $6495. The 50XM3 is a 50-inch model with a WideXGA resolution of 1365 by 758, and is priced at $9995. At the high end is the 61-inch 61XM2, with 1365 by 768 WideXGA resolution, priced at $19,995.

All include NEC’s Capsulated Color Filter technology that offers realistic color reproduction and AccuCrimson technology that creates the “purest reds possible in a plasma display,” according to NEC.

The monitor’s MASS technology is designed to eliminate jagged lines and correct color bleeds. Enhanced scan conversion technology offers text clarity with small font sizes and 3/2 pulldown enhances the appearance of content originally produced in film.

The displays’ color tune technology allows for individual color adjustments without altering the white balance, and gamma technology. All can be configured in either a 2 by 2 or a 3 by 3 matrix without an external processor. The units come equipped with 9W by 9W stereo audio (8W by 8W for the 42XM2) and a programmable timer.

The 42XM2, 50XM3 and 61XM2 run at 22dB and can be wall-mounted. What’s more, they can operate in either portrait or landscape orientation.
