Sony Ships Business LCDs
May 9th, 2007
Sony has released a new line of flat-panel displays that are aimed at corporate and government customers.
The new 15-inch SDM-X53 ($430), 17-inch SDM-X73 ($600), and 19-inch SDM-X93 ($800) models are Mac- and Windows-compatible via an analog input connector.
All of the monitors feature the ErgoStand control system and ErgoBright technology. ErgoStand lets you customize a monitor’s viewing position by using height, tilt, and swivel adjustments.
Each model tilts to a variety of positions (up to 20 degrees), swivels up to 350 degrees, and offers up to 4 inches of height adjustment. Each monitor’s bezel measures less than 0.75 inch on each side, which allows users to mount units side-by-side or to stack multiple displays.
ErgoBright technology is designed to automatically adapt a monitor to individual workplace environments by adjusting its brightness as ambient light conditions change. The new monitors are available in either black or two-tone gray. They boast both digital and analog inputs, as well as integrated stereo speakers, a headphone jack, a cable-management system, and an internal power supply.
Next month Sony will also introduce a value line of LCDs geared toward corporate and government customers. The monitors will have a look and feel similar to the X-series models.
The 15-inch S53 is expected to cost about $330, and the 19-inch S93 is expected to sell for approximately $750.
